PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Trimpley to Hampton Loade Project is a 11km new pipeline project from the connection to South Staffs Water site at Hampton Loade in Shropshire to Trimpley Reservoir near Bewdley. This pipeline will boost the water supply to circa. 65,000 Severn Trent customers in the surrounding rural areas.
Civ-Ex were engaged in January 2024 during the pre-construction stages for the delivery of Section B (approx. 5.2km) from Hampton Loade Lane to Arley Lane. Due to strong performance in Section B, Civ-Ex were awarded Section C of the scheme, which included a further 2.8km of pipeline installation and additional enabling works for HDD works.
The Civ-Ex team successfully completed the full scheme and handed over to the client in July 2025. The Civ-Ex scope including the following:
- Client enabling works (compounds and access); including full compound / storage areas platform and associated civils works.
- HDD enabling works; including topsoil stripping, geotextile / geogrid placement, aggregate placement and compaction for Haul Roads and Drill Pads.
- Easement topsoil stripping.
- Installation of 500mm DI Pipeline and associated connection to HDD.
- 4 No. high-pressure fuel trunk main crossings incl. associated temporary works and asset owner requirements.
- Online 278 works, 250m install of large diameter DI pipeline in live carriageway, including all associated breakout, site clearance and reinstatement works.
- 100m of pipeline road crossings in partnership with local stakeholders and local authorities.
- Reinforcement green embankment completed under 1 week road closure.
- Accommodations works for local stakeholders, including drainage, surfacing and general earthworks.
- Full easement reinstatement including re-soiling and seeding works to satisfaction of local stakeholders, our client and Severn Trent. Civ-Ex liaised with local stakeholders and received much praise from all parties with the level of finishing and attention given to returning the easement in an exemplary condition.
