Civ-Ex, based out of Chesterfield, Derbyshire is an established civil engineering contractor which has been formed through over three decades of successful project delivery. Following over a decade of hard landscaping contracts, our Owner and Founder Paul Bradshaw established Brad-Pave Ltd. in 2003, branching out his vision of quality across the broader sector. In 2025, Brad-Pave Ltd. will operate under the Civ-Ex brand, which encapsulates a solid reputation gained for delivering over 20 years of quality projects across multiple sectors.
Civ-Ex have the expertise to carry out large scale single discipline packages within larger schemes, in addition to executing smaller complex scopes, carrying out the full suite of capabilities. At Civ-Ex, exemplary standards are set across safety, quality and performance regardless of package size. Our ethos is embedded in everything we do, which leads to an impeccable end-product and satisfied clients.
We understand, each of the projects we deliver at Civ-Ex, is as much of a reflection on our clients as it is ourselves. Therefore, we give our projects much consideration to our project deliver strategy (safety / performance) and the resulting end-product (quality).

In order to deliver our schemes to the degree of safety, quality and performance dictated by our standards, Civ-Ex has invested in the latest machinery and machine control technology. Over the past decade, Civ-Ex has built a compact fleet of top of the range machinery, giving us the cutting edge over our competitors. Innovating and improving our processes and methods is core to our business, and allows us to deliver our projects in a safer and more efficient manner.
In partnership with Leica Geosystems and Steelwrist Tiltrotators, we at Civ-Ex, bring unrivalled technology to the water pipelines and highways drainage sectors. This combination of technologies allows us to complete our projects in a more agile and efficient delivery approach, whilst also bolstering our safety standards.
Some of the key features of this technology on our projects area as follows:
- 1. Full 3D machine control working to approved client design information; reducing setting out errors and highlighting inconsistencies in the design prior to installation.
- 2. 3D Mapping of Installed works, removing the requirement for an engineering resource being deployed to an excavation.
- 3. Fast production of accurate as-built information which is recorded live and can be exported anytime through Leica ConX.
- 4. Avoidance zones for chartered utilities and services, acting as a last barrier defence to clashes, which cause safety concerns, project delays and stakeholder impacts.
- 5. Ability to complete challenging excavations and profiles using Steelwrist Attachments operated by Civ-Ex experienced personnel.
