Thornbury Industrial Park Embankment

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Civ-Ex were contracted to construct a 15 metre high 1:1 gradient embankment on a largescale development in Bradford, Yorkshire.
This challenging scheme featured a reinforced earthworks design which added to overall project complexity. Civ-Ex also completed a broad range of other scopes on the project as itemised below.
Civ-Ex through innovation and experience, developed a delivery strategy which resulted in an high-standard of finish, giving the end-client a striking and unique development platform.
Scope:
- Completion of circa. 35,000m3 Bulk Earthworks Cut and Fill Operation.
- Installation of circa. 70,000m2 Geotextile Reinforcement Membrane, including all associated CBR Testing.
- Surface Preparation of Finished Reinforced Batters to small tolerance and high degree of attention to detail.
- Installation of large pre-fabricated gabion baskets along 1:1 batter profile for surface water management to local watercourse.
- Full Access Road Construction.
- Installation of surface water drainage networks and pre-earthworks drainage requirements.
